Vehicle Search Terms of Use and Responsibility
Back to websiteLast updated: August 10, 2026.
These Terms govern the contracting and use of the service Vehicle Search from Dono da Oficina. The search may return registration and history data associated with the vehicle, such as license plate details, vehicle characteristics, restrictions, accident records, and theft alerts or records, depending on the sources consulted.
THE RESULT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND DOES NOT REPLACE A CERTIFICATE, VEHICLE INSPECTION, PRE-PURCHASE CONDITION REPORT, PHYSICAL INSPECTION, OR CONFIRMATION WITH THE COMPETENT PUBLIC AUTHORITY.
By purchasing credits or making a search, the user confirms that they have read this document, have a legitimate purpose for the search, and accept responsibility for the use, storage, and any sharing of the results under their decision or control.
1. Supplier, user, and acceptance
- Provider: the service is provided by 67.602.865 KRYSTIANO INACIO FERREIRA, CNPJ 67.602.865/0001-07, with its business address at Rua Alfredo Merlo, 104, Rio Marinho, Vila Velha/ES, CEP 29112-360, contact [email protected], through the Dono da Oficina platform.
- User: is the individual or legal entity that owns the account, purchases credits, requests a search, or accesses its result, including its administrators and authorized users.
- Acceptance will be recorded electronically and will bind the user to these Terms, the platform Terms of Use, and the Privacy Policy.
- Anyone accepting on behalf of a legal entity confirms they have authority to bind it and must inform their team about these rules.
2. Service scope and operation
The service performs an electronic search using information provided by the user and consolidates responses made available by its own or third-party databases. The content returned depends on each source’s coverage, update status, availability, and quality at the time of the search.
A search with no findings only means the sources accessed returned no matches for the criteria at that time. This does not guarantee the absence of restrictions, accident records, fraud, robbery, theft, defects, debt, or any other issue associated with the vehicle.
3. Packages, Prices, and Credit Usage
As of this version, the available packages are:
- 10 searches: BRL 100.00;
- 50 searches: BRL 350.00; and
- 100 searches: BRL 500.00.
- Each request processed and answered, including cases where no record is found for the vehicle, uses one query from the balance.
- A confirmed technical failure that prevents delivery of any result must not consume the credit or entitles the user to a replacement credit.
- Any validity period, additional limitation, or promotional condition applies only if clearly disclosed before purchase. Future price changes will not affect credits already earned.
- The balance is tied to the contracting account, has no cash value, and may not be resold, assigned, or transferred without Dono da Oficina’s express authorization.
4. Permitted purposes
Users may consult and use vehicle information only for a lawful, specific purpose compatible with their activity, such as:
- identification and inspection of a vehicle received for an estimate, maintenance, repair, storage, or service;
- fraud prevention and risk assessment in a legitimate vehicle-related transaction;
- a search requested by the owner, possessor, buyer, seller, or another legitimate responsible party; or
- compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation, or the regular exercise of rights, where applicable.
The user must limit searches and data use to what is necessary for the stated purpose and, where personal data is involved, maintain a valid legal basis under the LGPD.
5. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the search or its results:
- for curiosity, stalking, surveillance, intimidation, discrimination, or unlawful purposes;
- to locate, intimidate, accuse, or expose an individual without a legitimate basis;
- to publish on social media, groups, broadcast lists, forums, websites, or other openly accessible environments;
- to build, enrich, sell, or share an unauthorized database;
- to commit fraud, engage in social engineering or extortion, make threats, or obtain an improper advantage;
- through automated means, bots, scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to bypass service limits; or
- as conclusive and standalone proof of crime, ownership, compliance, origin, or vehicle condition.
6. Confidentiality and Sharing
- Search results are restricted to the user and team members who need them for the stated legitimate purpose.
- Sharing may take place only when necessary, with a legitimate recipient and limited to relevant data, in accordance with the law, confidentiality requirements, and appropriate security measures.
- The user is responsible for any sharing, reproduction, printing, screenshots, forwarding, or publication by them or anyone they gave access to, if those actions violate these Terms, third-party rights, or the law.
- If results must be presented to the workshop’s customer, the user should explain that they are informational, avoid unnecessary exposure of personal data, and recommend verification through an official source.
7. Personal Data Protection
- A license plate, alone or combined with other information, may identify a natural person and must be handled with the safeguards required by Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
- The user is responsible for their own decisions about which vehicles to search, why they search, who may access the results, and whether results are shared. For these operations, you must define and document the appropriate purpose, necessity, and legal basis.
- Dono da Oficina processes the data needed to authenticate the account, process and audit searches, deliver results, prevent fraud, provide support, protect the service, meet legal obligations, and exercise rights.
- Each party is responsible for processing and decisions under its control, without limiting any determination required by law when multiple agents contribute to harm.
- The user must handle legitimate data-subject requests regarding processing under their responsibility and cooperate with Dono da Oficina on incidents, audits, and requests related to the search.
More information about data subject rights, legal bases, retention, and support channels is available in the Privacy Policy and LGPD.
8. Account and Results Security
The user must protect credentials, limit access according to each team member’s role, secure devices, and end sessions on shared equipment. Sharing passwords or allowing unauthorized third parties to use the account is prohibited.
Suspected unauthorized access, data leaks, lost credentials, or improper disclosure must be reported promptly to [email protected], with the information available for containment and investigation.
9. Currency, accuracy, and interpretation of results
- Information reflects what sources returned at the time of the search and may be delayed, inconsistent, unavailable, incorrect at the source, or not yet updated.
- The theft record may have been added, changed, or removed after a source was updated. The user must verify the vehicle’s status with the appropriate security or traffic authority before taking action that affects third parties.
- An accident record does not, by itself, establish the vehicle’s current mechanical condition, extent of damage, repair quality, or safety.
- The user should compare the license plate, chassis, documents, identifying marks, and the vehicle’s physical condition, obtaining an inspection or professional report when greater certainty is needed.
- Dono da Oficina will correct failures directly attributable to it but cannot unilaterally change records held by the original source. Disputes must also be raised with the authority or provider responsible for the source data.
10. Availability and third-party sources
The service depends on internet, infrastructure, and databases maintained by third parties. Temporary outages, maintenance, changes in coverage, or interruption of a source may occur. Whenever possible, Dono da Oficina will report relevant incidents and take measures to restore the search service.
The source of specific information will be provided where applicable and technically possible, subject to contracts, confidentiality, and the rules of the source consulted.
11. Suspension for risk or misuse
Access may be temporarily suspended when there is objective evidence of fraud, unauthorized bulk searches, a security breach, unlawful sharing, or violation of these Terms. Except in an emergency to protect the service or third parties, the user will be informed and may provide clarification.
Once misuse is confirmed, the account may be blocked or terminated, without limiting mandatory consumer rights or any assessment of damages. Suspension does not prevent notifying the authorities when legally required or when there is credible evidence of unlawful activity.
12. Withdrawal, Support, and Disputes
When a purchase is subject to Brazil’s Consumer Defense Code and made outside a business establishment, the statutory 7 (seven)-day right of withdrawal under Article 49 of the CDC will be respected. The request may be sent to [email protected].
Technical failures, billing, credit usage, or inconsistent results may be disputed through the same channel. Where possible, the user should provide date and time, account identifier, partially masked plate number, and a description of the issue, without sending unnecessary personal data.
13. Responsibilities
- The user is responsible for the legitimacy of the requested search and for harm caused by unlawful use, decisions, or sharing of results under their control, including by any user they authorize.
- The user must compensate for losses proven to result from unlawful conduct, subject to due process, full rights of defense, and determination of each party’s contribution.
- Dono da Oficina is responsible for actions and service defects legally attributable to it, including inadequate information about usage and risks, as provided by applicable law.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights and responsibilities that cannot be waived by contract, especially those under the Consumer Defense Code and LGPD.
14. Records and Proof
For security, fraud prevention, support, and exercising legal rights, the system may log the accepted version of these Terms, date and time, account, user, searches, credit usage, and technical access information for as long as needed for the stated purposes and legal obligations.
The user may request a copy of the current Terms and, subject to third-party rights and legal limits, information about their contracting and search history.
15. Changes to the Terms and Service
These Terms may be updated to reflect legal, operational, security, or service changes. Material changes will be communicated before taking effect and, when necessary, will require renewed acceptance. Prices, credits, and rights already earned will be preserved under the offer and applicable law.
16. Law and Dispute Resolution
Brazilian law applies, especially:
- Consumer Defense Code, Law No. 8.078/1990;
- Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), Law No. 13.709/2018;
- Brazilian Civil Code, Law No. 10.406/2002; and
- Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet, Law No. 12.965/2014.
The user may contact customer service channels, Procon, the Consumidor.gov.br platform, the National Data Protection Authority, or the courts. Where consumer-protection law applies, the consumer’s domicile remains the proper venue.
ACCEPTANCE STATEMENT: By electronically confirming, the user declares that they received prior access to these Terms, understand the informational nature and limitations of the search, agree to use it only for a legitimate purpose, and accept responsibility for any use or disclosure of the results under their decision or control.
This document sets general service terms and does not replace an individual legal review of each workshop’s internal workflows. A lawyer should review the arrangement and prepare a data protection impact report before operations begin, especially if large-scale queries, profiling, or decisions that could affect third-party rights are involved.
